A client who is an international multi-discipline consultant providing engineering, environmental, planning and management services to a diverse range of clients in both the public and private sectors is seeking a Senior CAD technician to work within the rail and heavy civils department for the Glasgow office.
Applicants will be responsible for producing engineering drawings for a variety of schemes. In the rail sector schemes include bridges, tunnels, stations, embankments and cuttings and drainage. In the heavy civils sector work includes roads, marine and water/ sewerage. There may be a requirement for some site works – doing surveys or site supervision. Although this is not expected to comprise a large part of the role (5 % to 10%) it would be a major advantage if the candidate could do this. Site supervision may be at weekend or at night in the rail sector.
The role would include the management of less experienced CAD Technicians to ensure consistent application of standards and to direct resources to meet demand. Work tends to be to tight deadlines so ability to work under pressure is required
Applicants should have an HNC Civil Engineering or CAD; a clean driving license is preferred but not essential and a PTS qualification is preferred but is not essential.
You should also have the following skills and experience:
- Proficient in Autocad
- Proficient in RC Detailing
- Be an enthusiastic, team player, with commitment to producing quality work
Applicants must have relevant experience some of which must be in the rail sector
